Winter National Conference 2020

Winter National Conference is an annual conference held by AIESEC to kickstart newly elected or potential members of the Executive Board Management Team for each Local Committee (University). It was my first AIESEC conference as previously I had only attended summits which normally consist of only 2 days. However, for conferences it is more large scale, hence it was carried out for 6 days and accommodation and food was provided.

Our accommodation was at UPM while seminars and talks in the first 2 days was at APU. Since I just transitioned from a member to a director, I was nervous as I might not know my role completely, however there was no need for me to worry. Gathering many inspired and empowered youths in 1 setting really broaden my perspectives on things and I got to meet people from other universities like UMS, UM and Sunway. Through this I got to know what they face in their university on sustainability of AIESEC as an organisation.

Through this conference, I got to know more on management skills and why it is important to change your mindset and set goals for yourself rather than blindly doing things. It got us, AIESEC in UKM to work together and know each other better as being from different year and faculty its normally quite difficult, but we managed to get along well through this experience. It is one of an experience I cherish a lot and I will not forget or regret my choices.
